Verbal Kung fu

Rumors are making rounds that Microsoft executive and face of Xbox, J Allard, will star in his own Kung Fu game, to appear at launch time of the Xbox 360 console. The following clip has been sent to us recently, together with a mysterious reference to J Allard’s alleged mastery of “verbal Kung Fu”. The animation shows J Allard, demonstrating what seems to be Kung Fu manoeuvres.

The game will allow you to play as J Allard. Throughout the game, you will fight off various Xbox foes, including a number of oriental-looking bad guys with an uncanny resemblance to Ken Kutaragi. In a twist, J’s video game enemies use boomerang-shaped weapons and are also able to launch projectiles at our hero. Early screen shots indicate that these projectiles resemble blue discs of some sort. J also has a special move, called the “ring of light”, which, when activated, instantly wipes all enemies off the screen.

You can also choose trendy outfits to personalize your J character, although the selection appears to be rather limited to a range of earrings, funky t-shirts, black jackets and strangely, colorful face masks. Of course the game will feature Xbox LIVE support. In the cooperative game mode, up to 64 Js can join to simultaneously battle the evil forces that threaten the empire.

A PlayStation 3 version has not been discussed but is considered highly unlikely.
